15:3 The eyes of the Lord ¹  are in every place,

keeping watch ²  on those who are evil and those who are good.

Mazmur 104:24

104:24 How many living things you have made, O Lord! ³ 

You have exhibited great skill in making all of them; ⁴ 

the earth is full of the living things you have made.

145:17 The Lord is just in all his actions, ⁵ 

and exhibits love in all he does. ⁶ 

[15:3]  ¹ sn The proverb uses anthropomorphic language to describe God’s exacting and evaluating knowledge of all people.

[15:3]  ² tn The form צֹפוֹת (tsofot, “watching”) is a feminine plural participle agreeing with “eyes.” God’s watching eyes comfort good people but convict evil.

[104:24]  ³ tn Heb “How many [are] your works, O Lord.” In this case the Lord’s “works” are the creatures he has made, as the preceding and following contexts make clear.

[104:24]  ⁴ tn Heb “all of them with wisdom you have made.”

[145:17]  ⁵ tn Heb “in all his ways.”
